Magazine Front Cover Version 2

This is an update on my front cover so far, after reviewing my first post of my magazine I decided that I wasn't using the space that was available for the writing as before the writing was going over the band members rather than over the wall. I have moved the writing around to find the best places to have the writing while still showing the band members and using the space available the most efficiently. I also changed the cover story as I think that it is more appropiate,

Front Cover Version 1

This is my front cover so far, I have not yet decided if this is my final design or if the cover articles that are included on my front cover will be included in the final desgin.

Magazine Rate Cards: Esquire and GQ

These are two rate cards that are aimed at men, I have researched these rate cards to see the figures of very popular magazines that are established in the magazine industry as this is the type of figures that I plan my magazine to achieve due to the gap in the industry for a music magazine

Kerrang! Front Cover Analysed

This Kerrang! Magazine is a music magazine and the feature photo and main article is about the band 30 Seconds to Mars. The writers of this magazine understand that the majority of people reading this magazine would be teenagers that enjoy rock music, they also understand that people, although they want to know what is included in the magazine, they do not want to read a long paragraph of text on the cover and would rather have just to-the-point information, this is the linguistic code. The colours that have been used on the cover work together well, the red and the black contrast well against each other along with the white title and parts of text, this is the visual semiotic code.

Diary Week 3

During week 3 we had 3 coursework lessons in which we started to learn about Semiotics and Semiology, and watched the opening scene from Taxi Driver and analysed how the director makes the viewers feel about characters in the film. In the next lessons we then took pictures for our school magazine and started to put the magazine together.

Diary Week 2

In week two, we started to use a program called 'CoralDRAW X3' and started to learn how to use the basic functions of the program. Later on in the week we started to learn the more advanced functions of the program leading on to be able to use CoralDRAW X3 to create our front cover of our school magazine.
